You can go on safari at any time of year. June to October is dry, so animals gather near water and are easier to find. July to September is the main season for the migration in the Maasai Mara. November to March is green, with young animals and excellent birding. April and May are the long rains, with lower prices and fewer visitors.
The herds are always moving. They are usually in the Maasai Mara from about July to September, when the river crossings happen, and in Tanzania’s southern Serengeti for calving around January and February.
Yes. Showers are usually short, wildlife viewing stays good, and the parks are quieter and greener. A few camps close in April and May, but many stay open at lower rates.

We use 4×4 Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs, power inverters, first-aid kits and cooler boxes. Many of our guides are certified by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA) and guide in English and French.
Tipping is up to you. As a rough guide, many travellers give their driver-guide USD 10–20 per person per day and put USD 5–10 per person per day in the lodge staff tip box.
